Airfield Information
Operated by Bond Air Services for Strathclyde Police and the Scottish Ambulance Service. Heliport is primarily for "Police 51" and "Helimed 5" (24 hr operations) although visitors are welcome in daylight if space permits. Single-engine helicopters no longer accepted. Call Flo for details of restrictions on aircraft type, insurance requirements, landing fees etc
Circuit Information
Approaches and departures should be along the line of the River Clyde. Establish on the river before descending below 500'
Cautions
Glasgow Science Centre has a 400' high tower on the riverbank opposite the heliport. Various tall cranes at the Govan shipyards to the west. Hospital with chimney just to the north and Glasgow city centre with numerous tall buildings to the northeast. Tall light stanchions in the SECC car park and the "Tall Ship" moored just to the northwest of the heliport. Heliport is within Glasgow Zone, Glasgow Approach 119.10 Scheduled floatplane services operate to the Glasgow Science Centre using a Cessna Caravan. The floatplane should listen out and broadcast intentions on 122.95 (as well as 119.10 Glasgow Approach)
