CTSW G-VINH hits trees in Dundee

A Pilot has been slightly injured after he crashed his P & M CTSW G-VINH (G-INFO Details) into a tree on a golf course in Dundee.

The P and M Aviation Ltd two-seater CTSW plane became lodged in the tree with the pilot still on-board after it is reported he got into difficulty while heading over the area.

The pilot suffered a head wound but was able to talk to emergency services while still sitting 50ft up the tree.

He was the only person on board.

The accident happened at around 4.50pm at the 15th hole of Caird Park Golf Course in Dundee.

Fire crews, police and the ambulance service were at the scene.

Tayside Fire and Rescue service sent four appliances, including a heavy rescue appliance, as well as the command support unit.

After the event, while interviewed in hospital, the pilot said that he got into difficulties while in the Dundee area and to avoid any built up area tried to use the golf course to land.  Realising that he wasn't going to make the landing spot he decided to stall or 'pancake' the aircraft into the trees.

So, with the use of modern materials and technology, does this show us the strength that modern microlights have?
